Shannon Byrdic Anderson attended the University of South Carolina earning two Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Biology. Shannon graduated from the Charleston School of Law with honors and served as the Research Editor for the school’s Law Review. After law school, she became an associate attorney at a firm focused on family law issues. A few years later, Shannon formed the Law Office of Shannon Byrdic Anderson, LLC to serve the family law needs of people in Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Shannon worked in mental health with a focus on substance abuse and anxiety disorders. She has extensive experience dealing with adults and children abusing alcohol and drugs. Drugs and alcohol abuse causes great pain in families, but Shannon has a unique ability to understand substance abuse whether her client has a problem or a family member has a problem. Her experience can work for you to fully recognize the problem and to know what avenues to pursue for the best outcome. Shannon’s previous experience serving people with anxiety disorders makes her very easy to talk to without judgment and always with an open mind. She helps people feel more in control of their situation, which reduces anxiety and fear.
A personal look: Shannon is originally from Conway, SC, then moved to Charleston soon after finishing her undergraduate degree to work at the MUSC Institute of Psychiatry. There she met her husband who is now a professor at MUSC. They live on James Island with their 3 children. Shannon is active in the Charleston Junior League and often speaks at the local Father-to-Father organization. She has many hobbies and is a very creative person.
